Popular singer Teniola Apata, known as Teni, shared that she acquired proficiency in the Yoruba language through YouTube.
Despite having Yoruba parents, the 31-year-old singer revealed that she learned to speak the language by watching Yoruba movies on YouTube while she was in America.
Teni disclosed this interesting aspect of her language learning journey in a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.
She said, “Do you know how I learnt to speak Yoruba? It was when I went to America. I learnt it from YouTube. I was watching Yoruba films like mad.”
In the interview, Teni also revealed that she began drinking alcohol in 2021. Prior to that, she did not partake in alcohol consumption or smoking.
The singer explained that her choice to start drinking alcohol was simply "for fun," suggesting a casual and recreational approach to her decision.
