Veteran comedian Bright Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, has announced his intention to retire from comedy at the age of 50, outlining a five-year plan to transition into building his own entertainment empire and exploring various aspects of the industry.
In an interview on Arise TV, the 45-year-old comedian revealed that he plans to conclude his comedy career after a series of yearly comedy shows over the next five years.
Despite initially abandoning a music career in the 1990s to pursue comedy, Basketmouth expressed that he always anticipated returning to the realm of music and other facets of the entertainment industry.

“In five years, I will be 50 years old. I would have moved on to something else that would take up a lot of my time. I wish to put my all into it.
“I am confident that I will be able to combine all of my interests and completely enjoy films, TV shows, and concerts. Doing all of these things and still giving comedy your best will be difficult,” he said.
