In a recent episode of the Shopping for Sneakers podcast, legendary American rapper Busta Rhymes praised the versatility of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The hip-hop icon, who collaborated with Burna on the track 'Roboshotta' from his latest album 'Blockbusta,' pointed out that he observed a Jamaican influence in Burna Boy's vocal delivery on the song.
Busta Rhymes lauded Burna Boy's ability to seamlessly incorporate different musical elements, highlighting the Nigerian artist's unique and diverse sound that transcends borders. The acknowledgment adds another layer to Burna Boy's global appeal and musical range.
He said: “The original beat Pharrell [William] produced for me and Burna Boy’s song ‘Roboshotta’ was a different beat. Burna Boy sounds crazy on the song, right? Burna sounded like he was from Jamaica on the song.”
Burna Boy and Busta Rhymes initiated their musical collaboration following Busta Rhymes' cameo appearance in the music video for Burna Boy's hit song, 'Big 7,' earlier this year.
