The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) have unveiled the official song for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The official song, titled "AKWABA," a term that means "welcome" in Ivorian language, is the product of a collaborative effort spearheaded by the talented team at Universal Music Africa, a global record label.
This song serves as a heartfelt expression of love for football, a tribute to the rich cultural diversity of the continent, and a celebration of the warm hospitality of Cote d'Ivoire.
The track features the contributions of several prominent artists, including Nigerian diva Yemi Alade, Ivorian group Magic System, Egyptian pop icon Mohamed Ramadan, and renowned producer Dany Synthe.
Cote d’Ivoire will host the 2023 AFCON finals, scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, with the participation of 24 countries in this biennial competition.
