Natural Language Processing (NLP) types and overviews.

Today we are going to start with the number one niche on the Artificial Intelligence(AI) space which is Natural Language Processing(NLP).

However as stated earlier in our first post in this series, we will not be going deep, just information for your guide on this great technology.

So let's go!!!

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an arm of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence(AI) that looks at the interaction between computers and human language. Below are some types and overviews of NLP:

1. Text classification: This type involves categorizing text into predefined categories or classes. For example, classifying emails as spam or not spam, or classifying news articles into different topics.

2. Sentiment analysis: This is involved in analyzing the sentiment or emotion expressed in a piece of text. For example, determining whether a customer review is positive or negative.

3. Named entity recognition: Named entity recognition involves identifying and extracting named entities such as people, organizations, and locations from text.

4. Machine translation: This involves translating text from one language to another using machine learning algorithms.

5. Text summarization: This is involved in generating a summary of a longer piece of text, such as a news article or research paper.

6. Question answering: Question answering involves answering questions posed in natural language, such as those asked by a user to a virtual assistant.

7. Speech recognition: This involves converting spoken language into text, such as in voice assistants like Siri or Alexa.

Above all, NLP is a rapidly growing field with many applications in industries such as healthcare, finance, and customer service. It has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with computers and make our interactions with technology more natural and intuitive.
