Serie A: Osimhen scores his first hattrick for Napoli [Video]

Super Eagles ace forward, Victor Osimhen registered his first hattrick in the game against Sassuolo in their Serie A fixture. On Saturday afternoon, his club, Napoli, destroyed Sassuolo 4-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Though Osimhen did not feature for Napoli during its 3-0 victory over Rangers in the Champions League on Wednesday, he returned to the starting lineup yesterday. He made his voice louder with three goals.

Osimhen opened the scoring for Napoli barely four minutes into the game before doubling the lead with his brace fifteen minutes later. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia extended the lead in the 36th minute to seal a 3-0 halftime win.

Napoli continued with their dominance in the second half and was rewarded in the 77th minute when Osimhen got his hat-trick and the Gli Azzurri’s fourth of the game.

Osimhen has now scored in his fifth consecutive game across all competitions. It is the Nigerian seventh goal in seven starts for Napoli this season. He has now scored six goals in the ongoing campaign in five consecutive games for the Italian side.

The three goals gave Osihmen his first Serie A hattrick as he powered Napoli six points clear off the league of the second-placed team AC Milan.

Napoli is yet to record a defeat this season across all competitions.
