Following the attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy on Sunday, some of the senator’s personal and security aides were reportedly killed during the dastardly attack. The senator has come out to confirm the deaths of the persons.
Nollywood Times reported that the senator’s convoy was attacked on Sunday around Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu Market area of Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State on his way to Nnewi.
The assailants opened fire on the convoy and left many members of the convoy dead, including other persons at the scene of the incident.
On Monday, the senator confirmed the incident to pressmen in Awka that the assassins killed one Obum Ikechukwu and Goodness Mathias. He added that some of his security aides from the Police and Department of State Services also died in the attack.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command, confirmed the incident but hesitated in giving the number of casualties the attack claimed.
“The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, visited the scene, and there were blood stains at the place indicative of the fact that the attack was bloody, but to give the number, I cannot say anything on that.’’
