The recent Tweet of Billionaire Elon Musk threatening to buy Manchester United has finally been addressed by the Tesla owner.

Currently and for decades, Manchester United has been owned by the Glazer family, and the club is not for sale; however, many fans of the club have reacted to the news of Mr Musk buying the club. Many fans held firmly to the belief that the Glazer family are the club’s biggest problem and would love to see the club transferred to another owner. However, the current owner has no reason to sell an active and productive club. The club is noted to be making millions of dollars annually in profit.

Therefore, selling the club would be a disastrous and foolish decision by the Glazers from an economic perspective. However, Musk is the richest man on earth now and possesses the financial muscle to buy all or any club in the EPL; how much more Manchester United. 

Musk being a headliner, set the internet agog with his single Tweet to buy the English club and sat down to see people’s reactions. Knowing that the Tweet would require an explanation much later, he did that on Wednesday with another Twitter response.

Those who know Elon Musk well would understand that he loves pulling stunts and is a big prankster when he comes on Twitter. Many of his responses or tweets are either jokes or memes and if you take him seriously, you will be making a huge mistake. He knows nothing about soccer, and he’s preoccupied with a lot at the moment that would prove suicidal to manage a club as massive as Manchester United.

However, the club is currently playing badly, and Elon Musk has confirmed that he was not buying the club. He said publicly that he was only joking about it. This response will break the hearts of many fans who actually believed his witty remark. Musk’s tweet trended so did Manchester United making the fans troll again.

Man United trolled on Twitter like never before

As sad as it is, Manchester United has become the EPL’s laughing stock and is currently the epitome of all the soccer-related jokes on Twitter. They are doing so bad at the moment that Elon Musk noticed it and decided to have a go at them. Responding to his tweet and countless reactions from the fans, Musk wrote: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.” 

However, he left a little opportunity for the future in his writing: “Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.”
