Sowore disclosed that he is stepping down as National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

Omoyele Sowore who is a big critic of the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari, was unanimously elected without opposition by members of the party as their presidential flag bearer in the coming general elections of 2023.

African Action Congress (AAC) disclosed the news through its official Twitter handle

Sowore who was very elated made this known through his verified Twitter handle:
“I have been validly elected by affirmation as the Presidential Candidate of the @aacparty #wecantcontinuelikethis.”

The Media entrepreneur contested the 2019  presidency, but his performance was very poor.

He has always been the critics of successive Nigerian governments, over corruption and maladministration.
 

Omoyele Sowore, stepped down as theNational chairman of AAC on Thursday, June 09, 2022, the position he had held since last election.

The  National Convention of the party was held in Abuja on Thursday, 9th of June, 2022 where his consensus candidacy was announced, and he has to step down shortly after, as the party chairman.

According to information from the party a new Chairman would be elected soon.
