Nollywood actors Yul Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze have joined forces in a new Nigerian movie titled Onye Odinaka, which began streaming online on October 31, 2026.
The film, also styled as Onyeodinaka, is available on Film Republic TV’s YouTube channel, where viewers can access the full feature and promotional trailers.
Directed by Simply Keldee, the production is credited to Odogwu Malaysia Money, while Anney Studios handled its post-production.
The movie explores generational conflict, authority and power struggles, with its central theme focusing on the tension that emerges when a younger person attempts to challenge or surpass an elder.
Its storyline is captured in the expression, “When a child thinks himself greater than his father,” suggesting a clash between generations over respect, influence and authority.
The production brings together four familiar faces in the Nigerian film industry, including Edochie, Owoh, Iheme and Ikedieze, whose involvement is expected to attract viewers interested in Nollywood’s established actors.
A story centred on generational conflict
At the heart of Onye Odinaka is the struggle between generations, particularly the relationship between an elder and a younger person who believes they can challenge the authority of someone older.
The theme touches on issues of respect, pride, family hierarchy and the changing attitudes of younger people towards traditional authority.
In many family and community settings, disagreements can arise when younger members begin to question decisions or positions traditionally held by their elders. Such situations may create tension, especially when both sides believe they are justified in their actions.
The film uses this broad conflict as the foundation of its narrative, presenting a story built around the consequences of challenging established authority.
Although detailed information about the individual characters and specific events in the movie has not been disclosed, its central message points to the complicated relationship between age, experience and the desire for independence.
The theme also raises questions about the limits of parental authority and whether younger people can establish their own identities without disregarding the experience and contributions of those who came before them.
Veteran actors lead the cast
The movie features Yul Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze, bringing together actors who have maintained strong visibility in Nigerian cinema.
Edochie is known for his performances in both contemporary and traditional Nollywood productions. His career has seen him take on different roles, particularly in films exploring family relationships, leadership and personal conflicts.
Owoh, widely recognised for his comic and dramatic performances, is another established figure in the industry. He has featured in numerous Nigerian films and remains familiar to audiences across different generations.
Iheme and Ikedieze, who have worked together in several productions, are also among the recognisable names in the cast. Their longstanding presence in Nollywood has made them familiar to viewers who have followed Nigerian movies over the years.
Their participation in Onye Odinaka brings together performers with different acting styles for a production centred on family and generational tensions.
However, the filmmakers have not provided detailed descriptions of the characters each actor portrays.
‘Onye Odinaka’ available on YouTube
With its release on October 31, the movie is now accessible to audiences through Film Republic TV on YouTube.
The online platform provides viewers with an opportunity to watch the production without visiting a cinema. Trailers and promotional materials are also available on the channel for those who want a preview of the film.
Simply Keldee directed the project, Odogwu Malaysia Money produced it, and Anney Studios was responsible for post-production.
The release adds another title to the growing collection of Nigerian films distributed through digital platforms, where filmmakers can reach viewers within and outside the country.
With its focus on generational disagreements and the struggle for authority, Onye Odinaka invites audiences to reflect on the relationship between elders and younger members of society.
