Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo have engaged in a war of words following a disagreement over comments surrounding Regina's marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The disagreement began when Kemi addressed Regina's supporters, asking them to stop directing negative comments at her. She also said the actress needed love, encouragement and emotional support as she navigated the difficult period in her marriage.
Kemi wrote:
“Dear Regina’s IG fans, please take your toxicity and negative energy far away from me.
All Gina needs now is positive energy, emotional support, and love. Try to keep my name out of your mouths”.
Regina was unhappy with the journalist's message and questioned why she had chosen to tell her supporters to stay away from her. The actress also claimed she had deliberately avoided responding to Kemi because she had stepped away from online arguments.
However, Regina made an exception this time, directing several sarcastic comments at the journalist. She referred to Kemi as “Aunty Werey” and made remarks about her grey hair, age and choice of words.
In her response, Regina wrote:
“Sorry I have to laugh this laugh pls publicly.
Aunty werey, just because I am now a retired wahala person, I kept you quiet to be buzzing. Don’t you know someone staying in one place recovering from what would have killed the likes of you will be itching to faint somebody?
How can you tell my gang to stay away from you? I shock, I swear!
So you know the meaning of that all this while? Or was it because of your daily 2k? If that’s it, no wahala, ride on, jare!
I Gerrit.
Plus, because of your grey hair, you merit my response. Don’t feel accomplished and put the praises on your experience, because if it’s by that, you won’t beat your chest, speaking nonsense in Queen’s English that’s not making any sense”.
Kemi later responded to the actress's attack, questioning why Regina had chosen to address her with the insulting phrase.
The journalist also raised doubts about whether Regina was personally managing her Instagram account, suggesting that someone else might be posting on her behalf.
She further referred to some of the content appearing on the actress's page, including videos of her dancing in a hotel room and spending time in a swimming pool.
Kemi wrote:
“Why would @regina.daniels call me Aunty Werey?
Is it her family posting on her handles? Dancing photos in a hotel room, wading in a pool, etc.
I will not tolerate this disrespect from someone possibly impersonating her”.
The exchange comes as Regina's marital situation with Ned Nwoko continues to attract attention, with the disagreement bringing Kemi and the actress into a direct confrontation.
Regina has made her displeasure clear that she should mind her business by staying away from anything that concerns her and her fans, Kemi has also stood by her response, making it clear that she will not accept what she considers disrespect.
