The founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a disturbing warning to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, claiming that individuals are allegedly planning to eliminate him.
The cleric reportedly made the revelation in a video circulated on X on Sunday, where he urged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain to take his personal safety seriously and exercise greater caution in his daily activities.
According to Ayodele, Atiku should not underestimate the alleged danger surrounding him, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general election continue to attract attention.
In his warning, the cleric specifically advised the former vice-president to consider wearing protective clothing and remain vigilant whenever he travels.
“They want to execute you; protect yourself with bulletproof and be watchful while using flight to avoid a technical emergency landing,” Ayodele cautioned.
Beyond the alleged threat to Atiku's life, the cleric also spoke about the political battle awaiting the former vice-president in the build-up to the 2027 presidential election.
He mentioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi as politicians who, according to him, were prepared for the contest against Atiku.
“Tinubu is ready for the game, and Obi is ready to embarrass you,” he declared.
Ayodele's comments come amid growing political discussions surrounding the next presidential election and the possible contenders seeking to occupy the nation's highest political office.
The cleric has also made previous predictions concerning Tinubu's political future. In September, he reportedly suggested that the president might not complete a second term if he secures re-election in 2027.
Drawing parallels with the administration of former President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who died while serving as Nigeria's president, Ayodele predicted that a similar situation could arise under Tinubu's possible second tenure.
He further suggested that such a development could result in an emergency government arrangement, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima potentially assuming the presidency.
The religious leader also raised concerns about the people surrounding Tinubu, alleging that some individuals within the president's inner circle were preventing him from receiving honest information about developments around him.
Despite the reactions that could follow his predictions, Ayodele maintained that his message should not be interpreted as a curse, insisting that he stood by what he had said.
He has now urged Atiku to take necessary precautions, remain alert and pay close attention to his security, particularly when embarking on air journeys.
