Nigerian singer Waje is set to explore another side of her entertainment career as she prepares to feature in two upcoming Nollywood productions, Extra Mile and The Four.
The award-winning vocalist, known for her powerful voice and contributions to the Nigerian music industry, is gradually extending her creative interests beyond the recording studio and live performances.
Her appearance in the two projects will see her join casts featuring established names in Nollywood, with both productions scheduled to arrive before the end of 2026.
While Extra Mile is expected to make its debut on November 27, The Four, produced by actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, is scheduled for a nationwide cinema release on December 11.
The projects will give audiences an opportunity to see Waje in different screen productions as she continues to explore opportunities within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Extra Mile Set For November Release
Waje is among the cast members of Extra Mile, a forthcoming drama that combines elements of crime, betrayal and psychological suspense.
The film explores themes surrounding trust and the complications that arise when relationships are tested by hidden motives and unexpected developments.
Its storyline centres on situations where appearances may be misleading and individuals are forced to confront the consequences of their decisions.
The production is scheduled to premiere on November 27, 2026, exclusively on Circuits, a digital platform that provides viewers with access to films through a pay-per-view arrangement.
The release will allow audiences to watch the production online rather than wait for a traditional cinema run.
Waje’s involvement in the project adds another dimension to her growing entertainment portfolio. Although she is widely recognised for her music, her participation in the drama presents an opportunity to demonstrate her abilities in a different creative environment.
Extra Mile is also expected to attract viewers interested in stories built around suspense, personal conflicts and the consequences of betrayal.
Waje Joins Funke Akindele’s The Four
The singer will also appear in The Four, one of the anticipated Nollywood cinema releases scheduled for the 2026 festive season.
Produced by Funke Akindele, the film is expected to open in cinemas nationwide on December 11.
Akindele has established herself as one of the most commercially successful filmmakers in Nigeria, with several of her productions recording impressive box office performances.
Her 2025 film, Behind The Scenes, grossed approximately ₦2.76 billion, making it the highest-grossing Nollywood movie based on the reported all-time box office figures.
The success of her previous releases has raised expectations for The Four, particularly as it prepares to enter cinemas during the busy December movie season.
Waje’s inclusion in the cast brings together two prominent figures from different areas of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
For the singer, the production offers another opportunity to connect with cinema audiences and demonstrate her versatility beyond music.
The December release is also expected to benefit from the attention surrounding Akindele’s filmmaking record and her established audience base.
From Music To Acting
Waje, whose full name is Aituaje Iruobe, is widely respected for her vocal strength and distinctive delivery. She rose to prominence through her music career and has remained a recognised voice in Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
Over the years, she has built a reputation through her recordings, collaborations and live performances, earning recognition as one of the country’s notable female vocalists.
Her move into acting reflects the creative possibilities available to entertainers who choose to explore more than one aspect of the industry.
Music and film have maintained a close relationship in Nollywood, with musicians occasionally taking on acting roles and contributing to film soundtracks. Waje’s involvement in two upcoming productions further highlights the connection between the creative sectors.
However, the two films offer different viewing experiences. Extra Mile is positioned as a drama with crime and psychological elements, while The Four will arrive as part of the festive cinema lineup.
Two Releases Before The End Of 2026
With Extra Mile scheduled for November 27 and The Four following on December 11, Waje is set to appear in two Nollywood projects within a short period.
The releases will give her fans an opportunity to follow her work across different formats, from digital viewing to the cinema experience.
As anticipation builds around both productions, audiences will be interested in seeing how the singer translates her artistic confidence into screen performances.
