The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala bail in the sum of N30 million following her arraignment over allegations of cyberstalking and other offences involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
The ruling was delivered on Friday, November 6, 2026, by Justice Akintayo Aluko, who approved the actress's bail application subject to certain conditions.
Doris Ogala, who is also the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, is facing allegations connected to her online activities and comments involving the founder of Grace Nation International Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor.
As part of the conditions attached to her release, the court directed the actress to produce two sureties, with each required to provide a bond of N30 million.
The judge further ordered Ogala to surrender her international passport to the registrar of the court as part of the bail requirements.
In addition to the financial and travel restrictions, the court placed limitations on the actress's activities on social media while the legal proceedings continue.
Specifically, Doris Ogala was warned against publishing any material online capable of exposing prosecution witnesses to harassment, threats or intimidation.
The restriction is intended to protect individuals expected to testify in the case and prevent any actions that could interfere with the ongoing judicial process.
The bail decision means Doris Ogala can regain her freedom once she satisfies the conditions stipulated by the court.
However, the case itself remains ongoing, and the actress will still be required to attend subsequent court proceedings.
The development comes amid the controversy surrounding the actress and Pastor Chris Okafor, which has attracted considerable public attention, particularly across social media platforms.
Doris Ogala has previously generated conversations online over her allegations and public statements involving the cleric.
Her political ambition has also brought additional attention to the matter, given her emergence as the AAC candidate for the forthcoming Abia State governorship election.
The latest court ruling represents a significant development in the legal proceedings, although the bail approval does not amount to a determination of guilt or innocence.
The allegations against Doris Ogala will now be addressed through the judicial process as the court continues hearing the case.
Meanwhile, the conditions imposed by Justice Aluko mean the actress must exercise caution in her public statements, particularly on social media, while the matter remains before the court.
