Zlatan Ibile’s latest release, INFERNO, featuring Peruzzi and Shoday, contains a line that appears to touch on his past disagreement with social media activist VeryDarkMan, also known as VDM.
The rapper’s choice of words has raised questions about whether he was referring to the activist, particularly because the lyric includes a name closely associated with their history.
In one part of the song, Zlatan raps, “I no be Vincent I no fit masturrbate.” Vincent is VDM’s first name, making the reference stand out against the backdrop of their previous exchanges.
Although Zlatan has not publicly explained the meaning behind the line, its wording has drawn attention to an issue that began after the death of singer Mohbad in September 2023.
Following Mohbad’s death, VDM repeatedly called on Zlatan to speak about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing. The activist wanted the rapper to address questions about what he knew, as the matter continued to attract public scrutiny.
Zlatan had been associated with Mohbad, and this connection became part of the reason VDM directed questions at him. Rather than letting the matter rest, the activist continued to challenge the rapper to provide answers.
At one point, VDM circulated alleged audio recordings that he presented as relevant to the dispute. He also accused Zlatan of having information that he had not made public. These allegations added another layer to the disagreement between the two men.
The back-and-forth put Zlatan in a position where he was repeatedly being asked to address the activist’s claims. VDM maintained his demand for answers, while the disagreement became a lasting point of tension between them.
Now, the lyric in INFERNO has brought that history into the picture again. The reference to Vincent may be deliberate, but without an explanation from Zlatan, it remains unclear whether he intended the line as a direct response to VDM or whether it carries another meaning.
The song features Peruzzi and Shoday, with Zlatan’s verse providing a line that listeners familiar with the pair’s history may interpret differently from those hearing it without that background.
Although, the lyric stands on its own, with no direct confirmation from Zlatan that he was addressing the activist.
