Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare has responded to critics who questioned her reaction to the controversy surrounding a leaked audio involving fellow actress Toyin Abraham and a fan.

The controversy began after an audio recording surfaced online in which Abraham was heard speaking with a fan who had allegedly been insulting another actress, Funke Akindele.

The recording subsequently generated discussions on social media, with different individuals weighing in on the circumstances surrounding the conversation and the decision to record it.

Bakare Supports Regina Chukwu’s Position

Amid the controversy, actress Regina Chukwu took to social media to criticise the practice of secretly recording people’s private conversations.

Chukwu’s comments attracted attention from other social media users, including Bakare, who responded to the post with a statement suggesting that she had more to say about the situation.

Bakare wrote, “It’s 2 ways. I have so much to say about this but not today”.

Her comment subsequently became a subject of discussion, with some social media users interpreting it as an indication that she was taking sides in the controversy.

Some critics questioned Bakare’s position and appeared to suggest that her response meant she was supporting one side of the dispute.

The actress has now reacted to those criticisms, insisting that she should not be attacked simply because she chose to openly support someone.

‘So My Crime Is Supporting Someone?’

In a strongly worded response, Bakare challenged those who criticised her over her position, questioning why supporting another person should be regarded as an offence.

She also rejected suggestions that she was pleased about the conflict involving those at the centre of the controversy.

According to the actress, people making such assumptions could not possibly know what she was thinking or how she genuinely felt about the situation.

Bakare wrote, “So my crime is supporting someone with my full chest? Imagine saying I’m always happy when they’re fighting, as if you live with me, or you can read my mind, or I carry banned dey dance around?

“How did you know I’m happy? This is not witchcraft?”

Her response reflected her frustration with what she considered assumptions being made about her intentions.

Rather than accept the criticism, the actress questioned how social media users could determine her emotions based solely on her public comments.

Actress Hits Back At Critics

Bakare continued her response by expressing anger over what she described as the inability of some people to understand her position.

She wrote, “This level of stupidīty and dumbass needs special evaluation, where Una dey see all these olodos that can’t even comprehend.

“Una go cry tire. Just that your tears are useless! Can’t even get me a Starbucks matcha.

“Even if I breathe, na hater. Kilode! Na only Una?

“Se na your matter, I go dey reason with all my responsibilities”.

The actress’s remarks further intensified her response to those criticising her, as she made it clear that she was not prepared to accept what she regarded as unfair interpretations of her position.

Her use of a mixture of English and Nigerian Pidgin also reflected the direct and confrontational tone of her response.

Leaked Audio Continues To Generate Reactions

The controversy surrounding the leaked recording has continued to attract attention among social media users, with discussions focusing on the content of the conversation and the circumstances under which the audio was recorded.

The involvement of several Nollywood personalities has also kept the matter in the spotlight, as individuals continue to express different opinions about the situation.

Bakare’s intervention has now added another perspective to the ongoing conversation.

While her initial comment on Chukwu’s post was brief, the criticism that followed prompted her to explain her position more directly.

She maintained that supporting someone should not automatically mean that she celebrates conflicts involving other people.

The actress also rejected the idea that her support should be interpreted as evidence that she was happy about the disagreement.

Her latest remarks therefore centre largely on the criticism directed at her rather than providing a detailed account of the leaked audio itself.

Bakare has made it clear that she considers her right to support someone publicly separate from assumptions about her personal feelings towards the conflict.

The development adds to the growing reactions surrounding the leaked recording, with social media users continuing to debate the issues raised by the controversy.

For Bakare, however, the immediate concern appears to be the criticism she received after expressing her support.

Her response makes clear that she does not believe her comment should be used to determine how she feels about the disagreement involving Abraham, the fan and Akindele.

As the conversation continues online, the actress has firmly defended her position while challenging critics to stop making assumptions about her thoughts and emotions.
