Xxsive Names Ochacho’s Son, Iceking, As Future Grammy Winner

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing’s ex Xxsive has made a confident prediction about Ochacho’s son, Iceking, after listening to his music, saying he believes the young artiste has what it takes to eventually win a Grammy.

The comment came while Xxsive was speaking about Iceking and what stood out to him after hearing the artiste’s song. Rather than focusing on the usual things people often notice first when listening to a new artiste, Xxsive drew attention to the technical side of the music, particularly the melody and the way the song was delivered.

For him, those details were enough to leave a strong impression.

Xxsive said the melody was one of the first things that came to his mind when he listened to the song, along with the intonation. He believes both elements give Iceking’s music the kind of quality associated with major international recognition.

Speaking about Iceking during a conversation, he said:

“Ochacho’s son will win Grammy, when I listened to his song, the first thing that came to my mind was the melody and the intonation, they’re Grammy standards and requirements” .

It is a particularly strong endorsement because Xxsive was not simply describing Iceking’s song as enjoyable or catchy. He was pointing to specific parts of the music that, in his view, could set the young artiste apart.

The melody, for instance, is often one of the first things that gives a song its identity. Intonation also plays an important role in how an artiste delivers a song, affecting the emotion, expression and overall feel of the performance. Those are the qualities Xxsive says caught his attention when he listened to Iceking.

His prediction also shows the level of potential he believes Iceking has at this stage of his career. Winning a Grammy is one of the biggest achievements an artiste can aim for, so saying that someone will get there is certainly a major vote of confidence.

For Xxsive, however, the prediction appears to come from what he heard rather than simply hype around the young artiste. He listened to the song, picked out the melody and intonation, and felt those elements were already at a level he associates with Grammy-quality music.

Iceking now has that kind of expectation attached to his name, at least from Xxsive’s perspective. Whether that prediction eventually becomes reality remains to be seen, but Xxsive clearly believes the young artiste has the musical foundation to aim that high.

And for someone who has taken the time to listen closely to Iceking’s sound, the message is simple: there is something in the music that deserves attention.
