Nigerian singers Waje and Shoday have joined forces on a new song titled “My Sunshine”, which serves as one of the original soundtracks for Funke Akindele’s forthcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone.
The song arrives ahead of the film’s scheduled cinema release on December 11, 2026, and is closely connected to the relationship between the two artistes’ characters in the movie.
Waje portrays Esosa, a mother whose bond with her son, Obaloluwa, forms an important part of the film’s storyline. Shoday plays Obaloluwa, making their collaboration on the soundtrack an extension of their relationship on screen.
Through “My Sunshine”, the artistes explore themes of motherhood, love, sacrifice and the determination of a parent to protect her child. The emotional direction of the song reflects some of the major themes expected to feature in the movie.
The track is now available across major music streaming platforms, while the official music video has been released on FAAN_TV’s YouTube channel.
Known for her powerful and soulful delivery, Waje brings her distinctive vocal style to the recording. Shoday, who has built recognition in the Afrobeats scene with songs including “Caution”, adds a contemporary sound to the collaboration.
The soundtrack is expected to strengthen the connection between the film’s music and its narrative, particularly because both performers are involved in the story as mother and son.
Directed and produced by Akindele, The Four: No One Fights Alone centres on Esosa and three women whose loyalty and friendship are tested by a difficult battle.
The story moves between the Odu community and Lagos while examining themes of courage, faith, friendship and the resilience of women.
The film’s central message is reflected in its title, “No One Fights Alone”, with motherhood and female strength playing major roles in the narrative.
Akindele leads an ensemble cast that includes Waje, Shoday, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola.
“My Sunshine” is not the first song released in connection with the movie. It follows “Ore Mi”, another soundtrack performed by Akindele alongside Waje, Bisola Aiyeola and Chioma Akpotha.
With the soundtrack campaign already underway, attention is gradually building around The Four: No One Fights Alone ahead of its December cinema debut. The collaboration between Waje and Shoday gives audiences an early musical introduction to the emotional bond at the heart of the film.
