VeryDarkMan has fired back at Zlatan Ibile after a line in the rapper’s new song appeared to reference the activist, turning his attention to the musician’s album promotion and wedding.
Zlatan’s track, INFERNO, featuring Peruzzi and Shoday, contains the lyric, “I no be Vincent, I no fit masturbate.” The mention of Vincent, VDM’s first name, has led to speculation that the rapper was taking a dig at him.
VDM has now responded with a post in which he mocked Zlatan’s wedding and questioned the success of the rapper’s latest music project.
“Person wey do a whole wedding because he won promote him album, album no blow, wedding no blow,” he wrote.
The activist also questioned how much engagement Zlatan’s wedding received online, pointing to posts published by entertainment blogs.
“All the blogs that posted the wedding, no one entered 5k comments. All the PR, Vincent everywhere. If that song no stay No. 1 for one month, e go pain me,” he added.
VDM’s comments suggest that he is paying attention to how well Zlatan’s new music performs on streaming charts. He said he would be disappointed if the song failed to hold the number one spot on Apple Music for an entire month.
The exchange comes against the background of the pair’s previous disagreement, which began after the death of singer Mohbad in September 2023.
At the time, VDM repeatedly called on Zlatan to speak about what he knew regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. The activist also shared alleged audio recordings and accused the rapper of withholding information, claims that formed part of their public dispute.
Their history has made the lyric in INFERNO particularly notable, although Zlatan has not confirmed that the line was directed at VDM.
VDM’s latest post shifts the focus to Zlatan’s music and wedding, with the activist questioning whether the attention surrounding the rapper’s album translated into chart success.
