Nollywood actor Browny Igboegwu has made it clear that criticism will not change his position on Peter Obi, insisting that he still believes the former Anambra State governor is the right person to lead Nigeria.

The actor recently attracted criticism after publicly declaring his support for Obi and stating that Nigerians would continue to experience hardship if they voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, rather than withdraw his statement, Igboegwu has stood by his position and questioned why his political opinion has become a subject of disagreement.

He believes Nigerians should be more concerned about the performance of the current government and what ordinary citizens have gained since President Bola Tinubu assumed office.

According to him, the benefits of the present administration appear to be more noticeable among politicians and members of the political class, while the average Nigerian continues to struggle with the realities of everyday life.

Reacting to the criticism, the actor said:

"My last post, where I said Peter Obi is the best thing that can happen to Nigeria and that if you vote for APC, Nigerians will continue to suffer, generated a lot of controversy. However, I still stand by what I said. Since President Tinubu assumed office, what has the common man benefited from this government? Instead, it is the political class that seems to be benefiting. All these social media 'billionaires' who keep promoting APC, I will come for you all soon," he said.

Igboegwu also questioned whether the situation of ordinary Nigerians has improved under Tinubu's leadership. He raised concerns about the cost of living, the difficulties facing households and the state of electricity supply across the country.

For many Nigerians, the question of improved living conditions remains important, especially as families and business owners continue to deal with the cost of meeting their daily needs. Electricity is another major concern, with poor power supply forcing many people to spend extra money on generators and other alternatives.

The actor's argument is that political discussions should not be reduced to supporting a particular party or attacking people who hold different opinions. He wants those defending the current administration to also consider the experiences of ordinary citizens and explain what has improved in their lives.

He also took aim at social media users who consistently promote the APC, particularly those he believes are disconnected from the struggles faced by everyday Nigerians.

Despite the criticism surrounding his endorsement, Igboegwu has refused to change his stance. He continues to identify with Peter Obi and remains critical of the Tinubu administration, insisting that the welfare of ordinary Nigerians should be the priority when assessing any government.
