Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has spoken publicly about his current health difficulties, revealing that he has been experiencing mobility problems and swelling in different parts of his body.

The actor made the disclosure while visiting Ghanaian colleague Emmanuel Armah in Accra. During the emotional meeting, Edochie explained that his own health has become a source of concern, particularly because he is currently unable to walk normally.

According to the veteran actor, the swelling he experiences does not remain in one place. He said different parts of his body can become swollen before the condition later subsides. Despite these challenges, Edochie expressed optimism that his situation could improve.

He also shared an emotional prayer during the visit, expressing his desire not to become a burden to the people around him. His comments highlighted the personal difficulties he is facing as he deals with the changes to his physical wellbeing.

Edochie’s revelation came during a visit to Armah, who has spent several years dealing with serious health complications.

The Ghanaian actor suffered a stroke in 2017, an event that significantly affected his ability to continue his acting career.

Since then, Armah has remained largely away from the entertainment industry while receiving ongoing care.

His wife, Stella Armah, has previously discussed his condition and the efforts being made to support his recovery.

She has said that her husband continues to receive physiotherapy and other forms of medical care as the family remains hopeful about his progress.

During his visit, Edochie offered prayers for Armah and also contributed financially towards his care. The meeting brought together two respected figures from the African film industry at a difficult period in their personal lives.

Edochie was in Ghana as part of activities surrounding the Pete Edochie Legacy Project. His visit provided an opportunity to reconnect with Armah while also offering encouragement and practical support.

The actor’s comments have drawn attention because of his long-standing status as one of Nollywood’s most recognised veterans.

Having enjoyed a career spanning several decades, Edochie remains a prominent figure in Nigerian cinema.

His latest disclosure has also prompted renewed interest in the importance of health, support and companionship among ageing entertainers.

While discussing his condition, the actor maintained hope for recovery and used his time with Armah to extend solidarity to a fellow veteran facing his own health challenges.
