Ossai Ovie, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, has criticised social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) over his latest business move, claiming that the decision to import a container of products from China was influenced by businessman Blord’s success.

The comments came after VDM announced the arrival of his first shipment of power stations and gadgets, which he plans to make available to customers ahead of the Christmas season.

Reacting to the development, Ossai suggested that VDM had taken an interest in the business after seeing the money Blord reportedly makes from his own operations. He also questioned whether VDM had the experience and knowledge required to succeed in the competitive business environment.

In his words:

“Very Dark Man bought this fully loaded container because of Blord. No be any other thing, na jealousy.

He has seen how much Blord is making from his business and decided to venture into the same thing.

But business no be just about having money to invest. Business requires skills, experience, and the right knowledge to succeed.

You can't just jump into business because you see another man making money from it. If you don't have the experience, you go lose.

This is where we go know who really sabi business between VDM and BLORD. And for this business side, BLORD will always be ahead of Very Dark Man.

I am disappointed in Very Dark Man.”

Ossai’s reaction has shifted attention from the arrival of VDM’s shipment to the reasons behind his decision to enter the importation business.

VDM had previously spoken about the challenges he faced while waiting for the container, recalling how some people questioned whether he could afford the cost of a 40-foot container and the expenses involved in clearing the goods.

With the shipment now in the country, he has expressed excitement about making the products available to buyers, describing them as items that could make everyday life easier for customers and their families.

However, Ossai believes that having the funds to import products is only one part of running a successful business. He argued that experience, market knowledge and the ability to manage operations are also essential.

His comments also brought Blord into the discussion, with Ossai expressing confidence in the businessman’s position in the market. However, his claim that VDM was motivated by jealousy has not been independently established, and no evidence was provided to confirm that Blord’s business was the reason behind VDM’s decision.

For VDM, the immediate task will be introducing the imported products to customers and demonstrating the value they offer. Pricing, product quality, availability and customer service could all influence how the new venture performs.

While Ossai has openly expressed his disappointment, the long-term outcome of VDM’s business plans remains uncertain. The success of the venture will depend on how it is managed and how customers respond once the products go on sale.
