Fireboy DML has given an insight into the way he manages his life outside music, saying he has never given the public enough access to fully understand him.

The singer made the comment while discussing the limited amount of personal information he shares with his audience. According to him, his decision to keep certain parts of his life private means there is little room for people to form conclusions about him based on his personal affairs.

“They don’t know me enough to misunderstand me. I don’t give them enough personality or gist into my personal life. I don’t have scandals, I don’t relate with other artists, I don’t sell my music with gimmicks", he said.

Fireboy’s approach sets him apart from artistes who regularly bring their personal experiences into the public space. He has generally kept details about his relationships, friendships and life away from music out of the centre of his career.

For the singer, being known primarily through his music appears to be a conscious choice. His public identity has largely been built around his records and performances, rather than stories about his private life.

He also addressed the role of publicity in the music business, making it clear that he does not rely on controversial moments or calculated stunts to attract attention to his work.

The reference to gimmicks points to promotional methods that can be used to create excitement around a song or artiste without necessarily being connected to the music itself. Fireboy said that is not how he chooses to present his work.

His decision to maintain that boundary also means fans may not have access to many of the details that could otherwise shape their perception of him. Instead, much of what audiences know about Fireboy comes through his music and the occasional comments he makes publicly.

The singer's position suggests that privacy remains an important part of how he handles his career. Despite being a recognisable figure in the Nigerian music industry, he does not appear interested in making every aspect of his personal life part of the entertainment surrounding his work.

By keeping that side of his life largely separate, Fireboy has allowed his music to remain the strongest connection between himself and his audience.
