Nigerian music star Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, has donated three brand-new Sienna buses to lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi ahead of his bid to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
The singer presented the vehicles to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, in what the politician described as an unexpected show of support for his political ambition.
Olajengbesi disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Friday, where he expressed appreciation to the music star for the gesture.
How D’Banj Surprised Olajengbesi
According to Olajengbesi, D’Banj contacted him about two weeks before the presentation of the vehicles and asked for the contact details of the person responsible for his campaign branding.
The politician said he did not initially suspect that the request was connected to his political campaign.
He explained that he assumed the singer wanted the contact for his CREAM initiative, which supports young creatives, and therefore provided the requested details.
However, he was later surprised when three Sienna buses arrived, fully branded in support of his campaign.
The unexpected delivery, according to Olajengbesi, left him impressed by the scale of D’Banj’s support.
After receiving the vehicles, Olajengbesi reportedly contacted the singer to express his appreciation and ask about the reason behind the gesture.
“It’s my token of support,” Olajengbesi quoted D’Banj as saying.
The politician described the donation as a significant gesture of encouragement as he continues preparations for the 2027 election.
Campaign Support Ahead Of 2027
The three vehicles are expected to support Olajengbesi’s campaign activities as he seeks to secure the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The donation comes as political activities and preparations for the 2027 general election continue to gather attention.
For Olajengbesi, the gesture represents support for his ambition to return to the political contest for the federal constituency, having previously contested the seat in 2019.
The politician, who turned 40 in August, has remained involved in political mobilisation and activities in Osun State.
Previous Support From Davido
D’Banj is not the only Nigerian music star linked to Olajengbesi’s political ambition.
Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, had previously endorsed Olajengbesi’s ambition to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency.
The latest gesture from D’Banj therefore adds another high-profile show of support from the Nigerian entertainment industry to Olajengbesi’s campaign.
Olajengbesi has also held political responsibilities in Osun State. He served as the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
He is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in the state.
His political activities have kept him involved in grassroots mobilisation and campaigns within Osun State.
Olajengbesi’s Political Ambition
The lawyer and politician is seeking to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in 2027.
His latest campaign support comes in the form of three Sienna buses that have already been branded for his political activities.
