Nigerian cinema is set to welcome a new campus drama as Tele x Zikora prepares for its nationwide theatrical release on October 23, 2026.

The upcoming movie is set against the backdrop of university life, using a fictional institution, Lagos Metropolitan University (LMU), as the setting for a story centred on friendship, romance, parties, identity and the challenges that often accompany early adulthood.

Written, produced and directed by Adenike Adebayo-Esho, popularly known as @thejoyfuladenike, Tele x Zikora promises to offer an entertaining look at the experiences of young people navigating life on a university campus.

The film explores the excitement and uncertainty that come with leaving adolescence behind and stepping into adulthood. Through its characters and their experiences at LMU, the production is expected to examine the pressures young people face while trying to understand themselves, build relationships and find their place within their social environment.

University campuses often provide a unique setting for stories about growing up, as students are exposed to new friendships, romantic relationships, independence and difficult personal decisions. Tele x Zikora uses this environment to capture both the fun and challenges associated with that stage of life.

From lively parties and social gatherings to complicated friendships and romantic encounters, the movie is expected to present different sides of campus culture. Beneath the entertainment, however, the story also delves into questions surrounding identity and the pressures of becoming an adult.

The fictional Lagos Metropolitan University serves as the central location where the characters’ lives intersect. As they navigate their academic and social experiences, their individual choices are likely to shape the relationships and conflicts that drive the story.

The movie features a large ensemble cast made up of established actors and younger talents, bringing together different personalities and performances for the campus-themed production.

Among the actors featured in Tele x Zikora are Genoveva Umeh, Mike Afolarin, Mercy Aigbe, Chimezie Imo, Tomi Ojo, Olumide Oworu, Angel Unigwe, Layi Wasabi and Daniel Etim Effiong.

The combination of actors from different backgrounds within the Nigerian entertainment industry adds to the anticipation surrounding the production. Each performer is expected to contribute to the ensemble-driven nature of the story as the characters deal with their personal relationships and experiences within the university environment.

Beyond its campus setting, Tele x Zikora is also positioned as a coming-of-age story. Early adulthood can be a period filled with questions about identity, relationships, independence and the future, and the film explores these themes through the lives of its young characters.

The production is written, produced and directed by Adenike Adebayo-Esho, giving her significant creative control over the project. The movie is produced by The Imagine Media and May Day Studios, while Cinemax Entertainment is responsible for its distribution.

The involvement of Cinemax Entertainment means the film will receive a nationwide cinema release, allowing audiences across Nigeria to experience the production on the big screen.

With its blend of campus experiences, romance, comedy, friendship and personal struggles, the movie is expected to appeal particularly to younger audiences who can relate to the realities of university life.

At the same time, its exploration of identity and early adulthood gives the story themes that extend beyond parties and campus relationships. The characters are placed at a stage where the decisions they make can influence the people they become and the relationships they build.

As anticipation builds ahead of its theatrical debut, Tele x Zikora is set to bring a fresh campus-focused story to Nigerian cinemas.

The movie will officially arrive in cinemas nationwide on October 23, 2026, giving audiences the opportunity to follow the lives, relationships, challenges and adventures of the characters at Lagos Metropolitan University.
