Nollywood actress Sikiratu Sindodo has opened up about a difficult health battle that left her fighting for her life after what initially appeared to be an ordinary case of malaria and typhoid became increasingly severe.

The actress shared the emotional account during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, where she recalled being taken from one hospital to another as her condition continued to deteriorate.

According to Sikiratu, what began with symptoms that appeared similar to malaria and typhoid eventually developed into a serious health crisis that lasted for months. She said she could no longer remember exactly how long she remained ill, but the experience became so critical that she eventually slipped into a coma.

At the height of the ordeal, doctors reportedly gave her mother only a 50/50 chance of seeing her daughter recover.

Sikiratu Recalls Difficult Health Battle

Speaking about the beginning of her illness, Sikiratu said she initially believed she was suffering from malaria and typhoid.

She explained that the situation gradually became worse, resulting in several hospital visits as her family searched for treatment and answers.

“I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one General Hospital to another,” she said.

The actress noted that she could not remember the exact length of time she spent battling the illness but believed it lasted for months.

Her condition eventually became critical, with Sikiratu revealing that she slipped into a coma while receiving treatment.

“I can’t remember how long it lasted. I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home,” she recalled.

The experience left a lasting impression on the actress and her family, particularly her mother, who had to watch her daughter fight for survival.

Actress Credits God For Her Survival

Reflecting on how she eventually recovered, Sikiratu became emotional while speaking about the role of prayers in her survival.

The actress credited God for answering the prayers made on her behalf during the difficult period, describing her survival as a testament to God’s faithfulness.

“God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional,” she said.

Her comments showed how deeply the experience affected her, as she struggled to contain her emotions while recounting the ordeal.

For Sikiratu, surviving the illness became more than simply overcoming a health challenge. It was an experience she associated with faith, prayers and the support she received during a period when her condition was reportedly considered critical.

Addresses Public Attention Over MC Oluomo Reports

During the interview, the actress also spoke about the intense public attention surrounding reports linking her to MC Oluomo.

Sikiratu admitted that she was surprised by the level of discussion generated by the reports, saying she had not anticipated that the matter would attract such widespread attention.

“The noise was too much. I didn’t know the noise would be that much,” she said.

Her comment highlights the pressure that can come with public scrutiny, particularly for celebrities whose personal lives frequently become subjects of discussion on social media and in entertainment circles.

Despite the attention surrounding the reports, the actress appeared more focused on reflecting on her personal experiences, particularly the health battle that nearly cost her life.

A Story Of Survival

Sikiratu Sindodo’s account provides a glimpse into one of the most challenging periods of her life.

From what initially appeared to be malaria and typhoid symptoms to being moved between hospitals, slipping into a coma and being given a 50/50 chance of survival, the actress described an experience that tested both her family and her faith.

Her eventual recovery has now become a significant part of her personal story, with Sikiratu maintaining that God’s intervention and the prayers offered for her played an important role in helping her survive.

The actress’s emotional recollection also serves as a reminder of how quickly an illness can become serious and how difficult such moments can be for both patients and their families.
