A Nigerian lady who joined Reekado Banks on stage during a recent performance has raised questions about a compensation she says was promised to her but has yet to be paid.
The lady explained that she never went to the singer or his management asking for money after dancing with him on stage. According to her, the issue only came up because a member of Reekado Banks’ team approached her before she left the stage and told her that she would be compensated.
She said she exchanged contact details with the manager and later sent him a message to introduce herself. After that, she did not continue sending messages because, from her understanding, the management already knew about the promised payment and would get back to her.
Things became confusing when another person from the singer’s team contacted her several days later and asked if she had received her compensation.
The question reportedly caught her attention because she had not received any payment or clear update from the manager she initially spoke with. She therefore decided to contact the first manager again to confirm that the person who had reached out to her was genuinely connected to Reekado Banks’ team.
According to her, the manager asked her to send a screenshot of the conversation with the other team member. She said she did exactly that but did not get a response afterwards.
She also said she followed up again after some days, but the message was only read without a reply.
Addressing concerns that she may have been repeatedly contacting the manager over the issue, the lady insisted that she had not been disturbing him with messages.
“I never disturbed or bombarded him with messages. I only messaged him three times. The last time was on Tuesday, and till today, he has only read the messages but never replied,” she said.
For the lady, the issue is less about demanding money and more about the fact that compensation was offered to her without her asking for it.
She said she would not have expected to receive anything from the performance if nobody had mentioned compensation in the first place. However, once a member of the management offered to compensate her, she expected the promise to either be fulfilled or properly explained if there was a change in plans.
She also appears to be hoping that the matter will reach Reekado Banks directly. The lady said she wants her post to get to the singer himself because she believes he may be able to provide an answer to the situation.
At the moment, her complaint centres on the communication between her and the members of the singer’s team, as she says she has yet to receive the promised compensation or a clear explanation about what happened to it.
