Apostle Joshua Selman has raised attention with a statement about the future of a high-ranking politician in Nigeria, saying he had seen a gathering connected to the politician’s burial.
While addressing the congregation, Selman said he normally does not make such announcements, but this particular situation was different. He said what he saw involved people coming together to bury a senior political figure in the country.
“I don’t usually do this but I am seeing people gather to bury a high-ranking politician in this nation. His time is up. I am seeing him going. The reason why we announce this is so that God will comfort the family and prepare their hearts but there’s nothing that can be done. It’s time, it’s over. This is not impress, I don’t have that time....”
The preacher did not reveal the identity of the politician in the statement.
He also made it clear that he was not making the announcement for publicity, stressing that he did not have the time for such motives.
According to his account, the purpose of making the statement was to prepare the politician’s family and ask that God comfort them. His words suggested that the event he was referring to was, in his view, already beyond human intervention.
The statement has left the identity of the politician open, as no name was mentioned during the address. There was also no indication in the statement of when the death would occur.
Selman’s comments came in the context of his address to the congregation, where he spoke about what he said he had seen concerning the politician. Rather than identifying the person involved, he focused on the image of people gathering for a burial and the need for the family to be prepared.
“I don’t usually do this” was one of the points he made before going into the prediction, suggesting that he considered the subject unusual enough to warrant addressing the congregation about it.
The preacher ended that portion of his statement by repeating his conviction that the situation was already settled, saying, “It’s time, it’s over.”
The politician referred to remains unnamed, leaving the statement without a specific person attached to it.
