I Want to Be Known as a World-Renowned Artist — Saga Adeolu

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adeolu Okusaga, popularly known as Saga, has revealed that he is determined to establish a lasting career that extends beyond his time on reality television.

Saga, who has built interests in art, fitness, acting and digital content since leaving the BBNaija house, said his ambition is to become recognised internationally for his creative work rather than remain known primarily for his reality television background.

Speaking in an interview with Sunday Sun, the former reality star disclosed that he is working towards having some of his paintings featured at exhibitions outside Nigeria. He said he hopes his artistic journey will eventually change how people identify him professionally.

According to Saga, he does not want his reputation to be limited to being the BBNaija contestant who could draw. Instead, he wants to develop into an artist whose work receives recognition on the international stage.

Beyond his personal artistic ambitions, Saga also has plans to contribute to the growth of other Nigerian creatives. 

He expressed an interest in establishing a gallery where local artists can display their works and connect with wider audiences.

He also hopes to create educational programmes that would provide young artists with opportunities to develop their abilities and gain practical knowledge about the creative industry.

Fitness remains another important part of Saga's career. He revealed that he is developing his YouTube platform with the intention of encouraging people to exercise and maintain healthier lifestyles from home. 

His approach is aimed at showing that staying fit does not necessarily require expensive gym memberships or specialised equipment.

Saga also reflected on the difficulties that came with leaving his engineering career for entertainment. Before entering the Big Brother Naija house, he studied electrical engineering at the University of Lagos and worked as a well completion engineer in the oil and gas sector.

He said the transition placed him in an unfamiliar environment where his actions and professional decisions became open to public criticism. 

Unlike his previous career, where his work was mainly evaluated by colleagues and supervisors, life as a public figure exposed him to opinions from a much wider audience.

The former housemate said maintaining a positive reputation remains important to him, adding that he values a good name more than material possessions.

Saga became a household name after participating in the sixth edition of Big Brother Naija, Shine Ya Eye, in 2021. During the show, his passion for drawing and fitness also attracted attention.

Since his exit from the reality programme, he has pursued several creative interests, including acting. His acting credits include Falling Notes, Dead Tide and Anikulapo 2.

With his focus now spread across art, fitness, acting and content creation, Saga appears committed to developing a career identity that is not solely defined by his BBNaija experience.
