Carter Efe Says Kolu Has Achieved More With Him Than When He Was With Portable

Carter Efe has put his working relationship with Kolu side by side with Kolu’s previous time with Portable, saying the difference can be seen in what Kolu has been able to acquire.

The comedian made the comparison while speaking on TVC News, where he talked about Kolu’s experience during the period he worked with Portable and what has happened since they began working together.

According to Carter, Kolu spent a long time with Portable but did not record the kind of achievements he is now seeing. He said the situation changed after Kolu joined him, pointing specifically to the cars Kolu has been able to buy.

Carter said:

“Kolu spent more than 10 years with Portable without any achievements, but just six months with me, and he is buying cars.”

 

The statement puts the focus on the difference between Kolu’s previous working relationship and his current one with Carter. Rather than measuring the two periods by the amount of time alone, Carter used what Kolu has been able to achieve as the basis for his comparison.

Kolu has been associated with Portable for several years, during a period when Portable built his name in the Nigerian music scene. Their time together also became part of the wider story around Portable’s career and the people who worked closely with him.

Carter, however, believes Kolu’s present situation tells a different story. His point was that despite spending more than a decade with Portable, Kolu did not make the kind of material progress Carter says he has seen since they started working together.

The reference to cars also gives the comparison a clear focus. For Carter, Kolu being able to purchase cars is evidence of what he considers a major change in his circumstances.

The comedian’s comment does not simply compare two working relationships; it also raises the question of how much difference a change in environment can make for someone working behind the scenes. Carter’s argument is that Kolu’s current achievements are a sign that his move away from Portable has worked in his favour.
