Yoruba movie lovers have another drama to add to their watchlist as The Chef, a 2026 Nollywood Yoruba production starring popular actress Mide Martins, makes its way to audiences.
The movie officially premiered on August 28, 2026, and is available to watch on the Tunde Owokoniran TV YouTube Channel. The production brings together a cast of experienced Yoruba actors, with Mide Martins taking one of the prominent roles.
The Chef adds to the growing number of Yoruba-language productions being released on digital platforms, particularly YouTube, where audiences can easily access new movies from established and emerging filmmakers.
The drama features Mide Martins alongside Apankufor, Lekan Olatunji and Saheed Adewole. The combination of the actors is expected to provide viewers with a mixture of strong performances, drama and the storytelling style associated with contemporary Yoruba cinema.
Mide Martins remains one of the familiar faces in the Nigerian movie industry. Over the years, she has built a strong following through her appearances in numerous Yoruba-language films, often taking on roles that require her to portray complex emotions and challenging situations.
Her participation in The Chef is therefore one of the major attractions of the production, particularly for viewers who regularly follow her work.
The movie also features veteran actor Lekan Olatunji, who has established himself as an important figure in Yoruba cinema. His experience in the industry adds another layer to the cast and gives the production the presence of a seasoned performer.
Saheed Adewole and Apankufor are also part of the cast, contributing to the ensemble that brings the story to life.
Behind the production is Tunde Owokoniran, who serves as the executive producer. Tunde Komolafe takes on the director’s role, overseeing the performances, storytelling and visual presentation of the movie.
With the film now available online, viewers can watch the production on the Tunde Owokoniran TV YouTube Channel following its August 28 premiere.
The release comes at a time when YouTube has become an increasingly important platform for Nigerian filmmakers looking to distribute movies directly to audiences. Yoruba movie producers, in particular, have continued to embrace the platform, allowing fans around the world to access new productions without waiting for traditional television or cinema releases.
For fans of Mide Martins and Yoruba drama, The Chef provides an opportunity to see the actress in another production alongside a cast featuring some recognisable names from the industry.
Although the title immediately draws attention to the role of a chef, the available details do not reveal the full storyline or the specific character portrayed by Martins. Audiences will therefore have to watch the movie to discover how the characters are connected and how the story develops.
The film’s release further demonstrates the continued popularity of Yoruba-language entertainment and the demand for locally produced stories. From family dramas and relationship stories to movies exploring social issues and personal struggles, Yoruba cinema has maintained a loyal audience both in Nigeria and among viewers in the diaspora.
As The Chef settles into its online release, fans can now enjoy the movie and follow the performances of Mide Martins, Apankufor, Lekan Olatunji and Saheed Adewole.
With its experienced cast, Yoruba-language setting and digital distribution, The Chef is another addition to the growing catalogue of Nollywood movies available to audiences online.
