For many people, Rejoice Iwueze was the cheerful child who sang alongside her siblings in the popular Joy Joy Joy series.
Her performances brought smiles to countless viewers, and the videos became a source of inspiration for many families. What most people never realized, however, was that she was carrying a burden that remained hidden throughout those years.
The gospel singer has revealed that while working on 'Joy Joy Joy' Volumes 1 to 5, she was quietly battling chronic stammering. Even as the cameras rolled and the audience enjoyed every moment, she was dealing with a challenge that often left her feeling frustrated and discouraged.
Rather than allowing the condition to define her, Rejoice chose to keep moving forward. She continued to appear in the productions, trusting that one day the struggle would become part of her testimony. Looking back now, she says she is grateful she refused to give up, despite the difficult moments she faced.
Sharing the experience on her page, she wrote:
“Life is so private that no one knew that all through Joy Joy Joy Volumes 1 to 5, I battled with chronic stammering. I stuttered so much, and there were days it felt frustrating and discouraging. Many people watched the videos, laughed, smiled, and enjoyed the content without ever knowing the battle I was fighting behind the scenes.
I got to a point where I was simply tired of letting it hold me back. I decided enough was enough. I kept showing up, kept speaking, kept trusting God, and refused to let fear have the final say.
Today, what was once a struggle has become a testimony. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t quit because of what people couldn’t even see.
Life is truly private. Never assume someone has it all together just because they smile, show up, or make things look easy. Everyone is fighting battles you may never know about.
Nothing comes easy, honestly. But with God, determination, and consistency, impossible things can become testimonies.”
Her story offers a reminder that not every battle is visible. While people often celebrate the achievements they see, they may never know the personal challenges someone has had to overcome to reach that point.
For Rejoice, the journey was not only about producing music and inspiring audiences but also about finding the courage to keep speaking when every word felt like a challenge. Instead of allowing fear and self-doubt to take control, she remained committed to her purpose, believing that persistence would eventually outweigh the obstacles before her.
Today, she looks back on that chapter with gratitude rather than regret. What once caused moments of uncertainty has become part of a testimony she now shares to encourage others who may be facing silent struggles of their own. Her message is simple: appearances can be deceiving, and everyone is fighting battles that are not always visible. Through faith, determination, and consistency, she believes even the most difficult challenges can eventually become stories of victory.
