Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has publicly defended his late mother after his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), made fresh allegations about her role in the long-running Okoye family dispute.
The response came shortly after Peter released the eighth episode of his ongoing tell-all series, where he revisited family events he claimed contributed to the breakdown of relationships within the famous P-Square family.
Although Rudeboy did not directly address every allegation made by his brother, his emotional message was widely interpreted as a defence of their late mother, Josephine Okoye, who passed away in 2012.
Rudeboy Pays Tribute To Their Mother
Taking to his social media pages, Rudeboy posted a brief but emotional statement expressing sadness that their mother was no longer alive to respond to the accusations.
“Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” he wrote.
The post quickly attracted attention from fans and followers, with many interpreting it as his first direct reaction to Peter’s latest revelations.
Rudeboy has largely avoided public exchanges throughout the renewed family dispute, choosing instead to focus on his music career.
Peter Recounts Emotional Family Meeting
In the latest episode of his video series, Peter narrated what he described as one of the defining moments in the conflict between his family and his wife, Lola Omotayo.
According to the singer, the incident occurred shortly after he and Lola welcomed their first son while they were living in their Omole residence in Lagos.
Peter claimed that his late mother visited the house and requested to see Lola alone, without bringing the baby.
To persuade his wife to attend without their child, he said he falsely claimed that the house had recently been fumigated.
Upon arriving, Peter alleged that neither he nor Lola was offered a seat during a family meeting attended by their late mother, brothers Jude, Paul and Tony Okoye, as well as several pastors.
Alleged Opposition To Their Relationship
Peter further alleged that the purpose of the gathering was to persuade Lola to end their relationship.
According to him, their mother allegedly told his wife that the Okoye family had decided she should leave him.
He recalled challenging the reason for the meeting before claiming that Jude instructed Lola to leave him.
The singer said the situation left his wife visibly emotional as she struggled to understand why the family had turned against their relationship.
Peter also alleged that remarks made during the meeting deeply hurt Lola before she was eventually escorted out of the house.
Claims Over Pregnancy
Peter went on to make more serious allegations involving the early stages of Lola’s pregnancy.
According to him, both Jude and Rudeboy opposed the pregnancy and even questioned whether the unborn child belonged to him.
He claimed that despite the initial resistance, their late mother later accepted that the child was indeed his and instructed both Jude and Paul to apologise.
Peter, however, alleged that the apology never came before their mother’s death.
He also rejected long-standing claims that Lola had a poor relationship with their late mother.
Instead, he described how his wife allegedly cared for Mrs Okoye during her illness by remaining with her in hospital and assisting with transportation for pastors visiting her throughout her treatment.
Family Rift Continues
Rudeboy did not directly address any of Peter’s specific allegations beyond his tribute to their mother.
However, his message has added another chapter to the highly publicised dispute that has dominated conversations surrounding the former P-Square members in recent months.
The latest disagreement follows several episodes in Peter’s series, where he accused elder brother and former manager Jude Okoye of financial misconduct, intimidation and attempting to take control of jointly owned assets.
Jude has repeatedly denied many of the accusations, insisting that several of the issues raised are already before the courts.
No End In Sight
The renewed public exchanges suggest that reconciliation between the Okoye brothers remains uncertain.
While Peter continues releasing detailed accounts of past events, Rudeboy has generally maintained his silence apart from occasional social media responses.
His management recently stated that the singer intends to remain focused on his music career rather than engage in prolonged public arguments over family matters.
Nevertheless, each new revelation has continued to attract widespread attention from fans, with many expressing sadness that one of Nigeria’s most successful music families remains divided years after the original breakup of P-Square.
As the tell-all series continues, many observers will be watching to see whether further responses emerge from other members of the Okoye family or whether the dispute eventually finds a path toward resolution.
