Reality TV star Phyna has publicly accused social media influencer Ashmusy of attempting to have her removed from an upcoming boxing match, alleging that the influencer sought to replace her with another fighter despite Phyna’s months of involvement in efforts to organise the bout.
Phyna made the allegation during a livestream while recounting how she became involved in the proposed boxing match and how Ashmusy was eventually brought into the picture.
According to the reality star, the entire issue dates back to February when organisers initially approached her about participating in a boxing fight against a Ghanaian opponent. She said she agreed to the challenge and was prepared to participate, but the proposed opponent later pulled out after informing the organisers that she had a wedding on the scheduled fight date.
She said the organisers subsequently spent months searching for another opponent and, during that period, repeatedly sought her assistance in identifying potential fighters.
During a livestream, she said:
“We reached out to different people. To the extent that it was now as if I was part of the organisers. They would say, ‘Phyna, help us reach out to this person, help us reach out to that person."
Phyna said she suggested several names and became increasingly involved in the search, particularly because some of the potential opponents rejected the proposed payment while others were unwilling to face her.
The situation changed on August 19 when she suggested Ashmusy as a possible opponent.
“On the 19th of August, which was last week, I suggested to the organiser. I said, ‘What about Ashmusy", Phyna said.
She said the organisers approved the suggestion and asked her to contact Ashmusy. Phyna claimed she immediately called the influencer, who agreed to the proposed fight after discussing the financial terms.
She stated.
“They said, ‘Okay, no problem, talk to her.’ Immediately, I called Ashmusy. We spoke, and she said she was down. We spoke about the money, and she agreed. She then said I should connect her with the organisers.”
Phyna subsequently connected Ashmusy directly with the organisers through a three-way call, after which she said she withdrew from the negotiations.
“I went on a three-way call. She had their number, so I was now out of it. I was like, they should continue.”
However, according to Phyna, the negotiations did not proceed as smoothly as expected. She claimed she was later informed that Ashmusy had rejected the initial amount and subsequently demanded more money. The organisers, she said, eventually agreed to the revised figure and sent her a contract.
“She then increased her money. They agreed, did the contract and sent it to her.”
Phyna said she became concerned when the process continued to drag, especially because she had already been involved in the boxing arrangement for several months. She claimed the organisers contacted her again and asked her to speak to Ashmusy about the delays.
“She was now telling me that it was Ashmusy delaying and that I should talk to her.
“I called Ashmusy, Ashmusy will tell me, ‘Phyna, you’re calling me at midnight. This is midnight. I’ll call you in the morning."
Phyna said she accepted the explanation but was surprised when she contacted the organisers and was told Ashmusy had been communicating with them.
“I said, no problem. I called the girl and said she said it was midnight. The girl said, ‘But she just messaged me now.’”
The controversy escalated further when another potential opponent, Chichi, was reportedly contacted. Phyna said Chichi refused to fight her regardless of the financial offer.
“Chichi said she was not going to f&ght me, that no matter how much they paid her, she was not going to f&ght me.”
According to Phyna, the most troubling development came when she allegedly discovered that Ashmusy was asking the organisers to remove her from the fight and replace her with someone else.
“Now, do you know that since day before yesterday, Ashmusy has been telling the organisers to drop me? That they should drop me because she has a better person to replace me", she stated.
Expressing her disappointment during a livestream, she questioned why Ashmusy would allegedly seek her removal after Phyna had spent months communicating with the organisers and had personally introduced her as a potential opponent.
“Me wey don dey talk to these people for seven months. I was the one who brought you in last week. Ashmusy is telling them that she has a better replacement for me that they should drop me.”
Phyna subsequently issued a strong warning about her experience with Ashmusy, saying, “Everybody needs to run away from Ashmusy. Ashmusy, you’re not a good person", she said.
