Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, says he is ready to take legal action against a Babalawo who claimed that he helped him become famous through “juju.”
For Peller, what may have started as a simple piece of content has now gone too far. He said the man initially made the claim for entertainment, but things changed after people began taking it seriously.
According to the content creator, the Babalawo’s TikTok account had only about 4,000 followers when the claim was first made. He alleged that the page has since grown to more than 65,000 followers and has also been changed to give the impression that the man genuinely provides traditional spiritual services.
Peller expressed concern that people could now be handing over their money because they believe the story about his alleged use of “juju” is real.
Peller said:
“The man claiming he did juju for me to blow/ famous should keep running. Police will still catch you.
That man first did that thing as content. Now I see that people believe it. The page had 4,000 followers on TikTok, now it has over 65,000 followers. He has changed his page to look like a real juju man page.
He’s now sc@mming people. He’s collecting people’s money. That man will r0t in j@il.
His family will beg for mercy say, "Help us beg Peller to drop the case." I won’t listen. I won’t even be in Nigeria, so there’s nothing like people coming to my place to beg.
It’s only when the police see me that they will release your uncle or father. Yes, and I won’t make myself available.
I will stay outside the country for a long time because I don’t know. Some people are 0l0riburuku. People are just falling victim and believing that man.
I even checked his comment section. Some people are saying, "Me, I’ve seen Peller. I don’t think that boy did any juju." Another person said, "Me, I know it’s juju that boy did. Please come and do it for me, sir. I don’t mind using my mummy.

Peller also said he has seen comments from people who genuinely believe that his rise to fame was connected to the alleged spiritual practice. One person questioned the claim, while another appeared convinced and even asked the Babalawo to perform the same act for them.
That reaction, according to Peller, shows why he is no longer treating the matter as harmless content.
He said he does not intend to entertain requests from the Babalawo’s family if they eventually approach him to settle the matter. Peller also stated that he plans to remain outside Nigeria for an extended period and does not want to make himself available for anyone attempting to persuade him to withdraw his complaint.
The creator’s position is that what began as a claim made for content has now created a situation where other people may be spending money because they believe the story. He therefore wants the matter handled through the appropriate authorities rather than through private appeals.
