Nigerian streamer Peller has opened up about his frustration with his parents following their attendance at his recent white wedding with their respective partners.
The TikTok personality tied the knot with his partner in a colourful ceremony over the weekend, with both parents present to celebrate the occasion despite having separated from each other.
However, Peller revealed that he was unhappy with how his parents attended the wedding, claiming that they ignored his request to keep the ceremony intimate and ended up making the event more elaborate than he had planned.
Speaking in a video shared on Wednesday, the streamer said he confronted his parents after the wedding because he felt they had disregarded his wishes.
“I’m tired, I’m tired of all these things. I changed it for them oo, no be small,” Peller said while expressing his frustration.
He explained that he had specifically asked both parents to invite only a small number of guests to the ceremony.
According to him, the situation became complicated when his mother arrived with her boyfriend while his father also attended with his girlfriend.
“Because I told them to invite just a few people, but my mummy dey carry her own boyfriend come, my daddy carry his own girlfriend come,” he said.
Peller suggested that the presence of their respective partners contributed to changing the atmosphere and scale of the wedding.
He said the ceremony eventually became more of a large celebration than the intimate wedding he had envisioned.
“All of them just turned my wedding to party,” he lamented.
The streamer further opened up about growing up in a polygamous family, saying his experience had made him understand how complicated family relationships could become.
“Polygamy is very hard, I’m from a polygamous family,” he added.
Peller’s comments have generated reactions online, particularly because his parents’ attendance at the wedding had initially been seen as a positive moment for the family.
Despite their separation, both parents reportedly showed up for the important occasion in their son’s life, although they attended with their respective partners.
For Peller, however, the issue appeared to be less about their presence and more about the way they participated in the ceremony.
The streamer’s remarks suggest that he had hoped his wedding would remain a carefully planned and relatively private celebration involving a limited number of guests.
His decision to confront his parents after the ceremony also highlights the pressure that can come with organising major family events, particularly when separated parents have new partners and different social circles.
Weddings are often occasions when family members put aside disagreements and come together to celebrate a loved one. However, Peller’s experience shows that such gatherings can also expose existing family dynamics and create unexpected tensions.
The streamer did not indicate that his parents’ relationships with their respective partners were the main issue. Instead, his frustration appeared to stem from his belief that they had failed to respect his instructions concerning the size and nature of the wedding.
His comments have since drawn attention to the challenges that children from separated or polygamous families can face when planning significant milestones.
Despite the disagreement, Peller’s parents were present to witness their son’s marriage, making their attendance an important part of the ceremony.
The streamer has not disclosed whether the disagreement has been resolved, but his public comments indicate that the events surrounding his wedding left him emotionally drained.
