Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Ossai Success, has stepped forward with financial support for the young woman at the centre of a recent controversy involving UBA Chairman Tony Elumelu.
Ossai announced an offer of ₦500,000 cash, an ambassadorial opportunity and a fully sponsored VIP trip to the fourth edition of the Delta Social Media Summit scheduled to hold in Asaba on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The woman, who is reportedly participating in UBA’s graduate training programme, drew attention after addressing Elumelu by his first name during an interaction captured on video. The incident subsequently generated criticism, with Elumelu publicly pointing out the need for greater attention to respect and proper conduct.
Ossai, however, believes the situation should not result in continued harassment of the young woman. Rather, he wants to use the opportunity to offer her support and provide a platform where she can share her experience.
Announcing the offer, he wrote:

Beyond the cash offer, Ossai’s proposal includes transportation to Asaba, accommodation in a five-star hotel, a guided tour of development projects across Delta State and VIP access to the social media summit.
He also offered the woman a brand ambassador role for the Delta Social Media Summit, describing the event as an annual platform.
His intervention comes with a message that the incident should not define the young woman. While acknowledging that she may have made an error, Ossai said public criticism should not become a reason to subject her to prolonged abuse.
He also appealed to members of the public who know the woman to help get his message to her and encourage her to contact him.
According to Ossai, the proposed meeting would give her an opportunity to relax, receive support and tell her story in her own words.
The Delta Social Media Summit is scheduled for August 27 at Mariam Babangida Leisure Park, opposite Dennis Osadebay University in Asaba.
