Nollywood Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe Raises Alarm Over Alleged Ritual Attempt

Godwin Nnadiekwe has sparked conversation within the Nigerian film industry after claiming he narrowly escaped what he described as an alleged ritual attempt involving a fellow actor. 

The Nollywood star shared the revelation on social media, saying the experience reinforced his concerns about safety and accountability within the entertainment industry.

According to Nnadiekwe, the incident involved a handshake that he believes was intended to harm him spiritually. He maintained that the alleged attempt failed because of his strong faith and spiritual convictions, adding that he considers himself fortunate to have escaped unharmed.

Although the actor stopped short of revealing the identity of the individual involved, he suggested that there are hidden dangers within Nollywood that are rarely discussed publicly. 

He warned colleagues not to assume that industry organizations would always provide protection, urging actors, filmmakers, and other creatives to be more cautious about the people they trust and collaborate with.

Nnadiekwe stressed the importance of exercising discretion when building professional relationships, advising entertainers to remain vigilant both on and off film sets. 

He also called for deeper conversations about workplace ethics, professionalism, and the responsibility of production teams to ensure safe working environments for everyone involved in film projects.

While making the allegations, the actor did not provide evidence or specific details regarding when or where the alleged incident occurred. Instead, he stated that he intends to release further information at a later time, leaving many followers awaiting clarification.

This is not the first time Nnadiekwe has spoken publicly about safety concerns in Nollywood. In 2025, he suffered internal injuries during a movie production after sustaining an unscripted kick to the chest while filming an action scene. 

The incident led to his hospitalization and renewed debate about safety standards on Nigerian film sets.

After recovering from those injuries, the actor continued advocating for improved welfare, better professional practices, and stronger duty-of-care measures across the industry. 

His latest comments have once again reignited discussions among fans and stakeholders about the need for greater accountability and protection for actors working in Nollywood.
