Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has shared an emotional message of hope and unity after visiting his home state of Benue.
The award-winning singer took to his Instagram page to post a heartfelt video showing him interacting with elders in his hometown, where he was seen paying his respects in line with local customs.
The video, which has since attracted widespread reactions from fans and well-wishers, highlighted the singer’s continued connection to his roots despite his decades-long success in the Nigerian and international music industry.
“Benue Is Home”
Accompanying the video, 2Baba reflected on the importance of standing with communities during difficult times, describing Benue as a place that will always remain close to his heart.
According to the singer, the pain experienced by his home state is shared by everyone connected to it, stressing the need for unity, dialogue and hope.
“Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it. Today is about standing together, listening, and reminding one another that hope is never lost,” he wrote.

His commitment to his home state was further recognised last year when Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia appointed him as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.

The appointment was widely viewed as an effort to strengthen collaboration between the government and grassroots communities through entertainment, culture and humanitarian engagement.

Last year, he and his wife, Natasha, met with the Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum in Abuja to discuss plans for a campaign aimed at addressing violence in Kwara State.
