For Nollywood actress Bisola Badmus, being able to look back at her life today comes with a mixture of emotions and gratitude.
The actress, who has faced a difficult period with her health, recently reflected on the journey and expressed appreciation to God for helping her through moments she once feared could have ended very differently.
Badmus became emotional while speaking about the transformation in her life. Her words showed just how much the experience meant to her, especially after going through a period when her condition raised serious concerns among those around her.
“Look at me, see what my God has done in my life, lots of people thought an end has come to my existence but my God rescued me and even added beauty and colours to my life. I am grateful O Lord,” she said emotionally.
Her words carry the weight of someone who has experienced a difficult chapter and lived to tell the story.
Badmus, who shares a son with Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1, previously opened up about her health struggles. In 2023, she disclosed that she had been battling encephalopathy, a condition affecting the brain, for more than a year.
The illness reportedly took a toll on different parts of her life. At some point, the actress revealed how badly her condition had affected her ability to see and recognise people around her. She also explained that medication was part of her treatment because surgery was not considered an option at the time.
Beyond the physical challenges, the period was also marked by painful personal experiences. Badmus had to cope with the loss of loved ones while dealing with her own health crisis, making the period particularly difficult for her.
She later spoke about being diagnosed with a brain tumour, further highlighting the seriousness of the health challenges she had been facing.
For someone who had spent years dealing with uncertainty, her recent reflection appears to be less about the pain of the past and more about appreciating how far she has travelled.
Badmus' story is one of a difficult season that tested her physically and emotionally. Today, she is able to look back at those moments from a different place, with gratitude replacing much of the fear that once surrounded her situation.
Her emotional words also show that the actress does not take her present circumstances for granted. Instead, she sees the changes in her life as evidence of God's intervention and mercy.
“Look at me, see what my God has done in my life,” she said, capturing the heart of her reflection.
For Badmus, the journey has not been an easy one. But after confronting serious health challenges and enduring deeply personal losses, she is choosing to focus on life, recovery and the blessings she believes have come with a second chance.
Her message is ultimately a simple one: despite the moments when everything seemed uncertain, she is still here, grateful for life and thankful for the beauty and colour she now sees in her journey.
