Your Fault (2026), starring Mike Godson and Bolaji Ogunmola, is a relationship drama that explores the damaging consequences of materialism, betrayal and greed.

The film delivers a cautionary message about the dangers of sacrificing genuine love and emotional stability in pursuit of wealth and a luxurious lifestyle.

The story centres on Paul and Lily, a couple whose relationship begins to crumble because of Lily’s growing dissatisfaction with their financial situation.

Despite Paul’s efforts, Lily constantly complains about his earnings and compares him with wealthier men. Her desire for expensive possessions, including a $1,500 wig, becomes a major source of tension between them.

Convinced that Paul cannot give her the lifestyle she wants, Lily leaves the relationship and becomes involved with Isair, a wealthy and flashy man who appears capable of fulfilling all her material desires.

Seduced by promises of expensive gifts, international trips and financial comfort, she quickly abandons Paul, believing she has found a better life.

But the glamorous image Isair presents soon proves to be a carefully constructed deception. Lily eventually discovers that he is a fraudster who uses counterfeit luxury items and false promises to manipulate women.

The gifts and jewellery she received from him turn out to be fake, exposing the reality behind his seemingly extravagant lifestyle.

The situation takes an even more devastating turn when Lily discovers that Isair has infected her with HIV before disappearing without explanation.

Desperate and with nowhere else to turn, she eventually returns to Paul, hoping that he might accept her back.

By this point, however, Paul has moved on and developed a healthy relationship with Enm, a compassionate nurse.

When Lily’s past is revealed through her medical records, Paul refuses to rekindle their relationship. Rather than responding with hatred or revenge, he chooses forgiveness and offers her financial and emotional support as she begins dealing with her health challenges.

The film ultimately concludes on a hopeful note. Paul proposes to Enm, while Lily is left to confront the consequences of her decisions and begin rebuilding her life.

Beyond its romantic storyline, Your Fault presents a powerful reflection on the difference between genuine happiness and material wealth.

Through the experiences of its characters, the movie highlights the importance of honesty, accountability, responsible choices and emotional maturity in relationships.

It also touches on health awareness and the need for compassion when people face difficult circumstances.

With its blend of romance, betrayal, deception and redemption, Your Fault offers viewers a sobering reminder that the pursuit of a luxurious lifestyle at any cost can come with consequences far more serious than expected.
