Nigerian actor Kunle Omisore has explained that he does not believe love can survive comfortably in an environment filled with constant stress and frustration.

For the actor, being in love with someone does not necessarily mean holding on to the relationship regardless of what happens. He said there is a point where repeated stress can affect his emotions to the extent that the feelings he once had may simply disappear.

Omisore made the point while speaking about relationships and how he responds when things become difficult with a woman.

He explained that when he genuinely loves someone, the feeling is real and he does not pretend about it. However, he also admitted that he cannot force himself to continue feeling the same way when the relationship becomes emotionally exhausting.

“If it stresses me, I’m done. If a king came to a feast here, if he’s going to keep stressing me, I’ve yen maa salo. When I say I love you, I love you. If you frustrate me, that thing will switch off unconsciously, so I don’t control it. And when it switches off, I will be like, ‘Oh, I really said I love you?’ That means it is switched off,” he said.

The actor’s explanation suggests that, for him, love is closely connected to the way a relationship makes him feel on a day-to-day basis. He appears to place a high value on having peace in a relationship and does not want affection to become something he has to struggle to maintain.

Rather than deliberately deciding to stop loving someone, Omisore said the change can happen naturally when the frustration becomes too much. By the time he notices that something has changed, he may already have emotionally detached from the relationship.

He also made it clear that he does not want unnecessary pressure in his personal life. While relationships may naturally come with disagreements and difficult moments, he does not want stress to become a permanent part of his experience with a partner.

“I don’t just want to be stressed. The only thing that is allowed to stress me is when I don’t have money,” he added.

With that statement, Omisore offered a rather blunt description of what he wants from a relationship: love should bring companionship and peace rather than become another source of pressure.

His comments also show that he sees emotional connection as something that cannot simply be demanded. Once his feelings change, he believes there is little he can do to force them back to where they were.

For Kunle, saying “I love you” carries genuine meaning when he says it. But if repeated frustration takes over the relationship, he believes those feelings can disappear on their own.
