Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has given photographer Jeffrey Oboh-Oshioke, popularly known as Juicyjeff, an opportunity to further his filmmaking ambitions by sponsoring his studies at the London Film Academy in the United Kingdom.
Juicyjeff shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday while documenting his trip from Lagos to London.
In his post, the photographer expressed appreciation to Akindele for supporting his creative journey and helping him take a major step towards building a career in filmmaking.
According to Juicyjeff, Akindele's decision to fund his studies was motivated by her confidence in his abilities and her desire to see him develop his talents.
He described the opportunity as one he would always value, noting that his journey from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to Gatwick Airport in London marked the beginning of an important chapter in his professional life.
The photographer also praised Akindele for recognising his potential and providing the financial and personal support needed for him to pursue formal training.
He said her intervention had transformed his filmmaking ambition from an idea into an opportunity he could now experience firsthand.
Juicyjeff's decision to study at the London Film Academy reflects his desire to expand beyond photography and gain deeper knowledge of filmmaking.
The institution, based in London, provides training in various areas of film production, giving aspiring filmmakers an avenue to develop practical and creative skills.
