Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has expressed his gratitude to London, fellow artistes, fans and the teams behind his sold-out “Davido & Friends” concert at Crystal Palace Bowl.
The singer delivered the message after taking over the London venue on Friday, August 14, in what became a major celebration of his 15-year journey in music. The event was part of the Palace Bowl Presents summer series and featured performances from Omah Lay, Black Sherif, Gabzy, T x C, Jazzwrld & Thukuthela, Ecool, Morravey and Boi Chase. The official event listing confirms that general admission, VIP and local resident tickets were sold out.
For Davido, however, the night was about more than a packed venue. It was also an opportunity to acknowledge the city that has remained an important part of his career and the people who helped make the latest chapter possible.
“15 YEARS LATER AND WE’RE STILL MAKING HISTORY!! 🇬🇧❤️ LONDON… YOU’VE BEEN ROCKING WITH ME FROM THE BEGINNING,” Davido wrote.
His message extended beyond the audience, with the singer recognising the artistes who joined him on stage and the people working away from the spotlight to deliver the event
“THANK YOU LONDON!! THANK YOU TO EVERY ARTIST THAT CAME OUT, EVERY FAN THAT PULLED UP AND EVERYBODY BEHIND THE SCENES THAT MADE THIS NIGHT WHAT IT WAS,” he added
The sold-out event underscored the enduring relationship between Davido and his UK audience. It also represented another major London moment for an artiste whose international career has repeatedly brought Afrobeats to some of the world's biggest stages.
Davido had previously described the Crystal Palace Bowl date as his first-ever festival in the UK and his only outdoor London show of the summer. The event was announced as a UK festival exclusive, with Davido taking the headline slot while curating the day's supporting lineup.
The concert also produced memorable moments beyond Davido's headline performance. Omah Lay, one of the night's featured artistes, gave the first live performance of his viral song “Gut Genug”, drawing a strong reaction from the crowd.
As the London celebration came to a close, Davido framed the milestone as another step rather than a conclusion to his journey.

The declaration reflects the broader significance of the night for Davido: 15 years into his career, he remains focused on expanding his global reach while maintaining a strong connection with the audiences that have supported him from the beginning.
With Crystal Palace Bowl now added to his list of major London performances, Davido's latest UK outing has further cemented his reputation as one of Afrobeats' most enduring global ambassadors.
