Content creator Tunde Perry has made a public appeal to the Nigeria Police, asking them to release popular streamer Peller following his reported arrest over an alleged traffic offence involving a vehicle without registration number plates.

Perry's appeal comes as concerns continue to grow over the streamer's situation. While there has been no official statement from the police confirming that Peller is still in custody, Perry said those close to the content creator have been working tirelessly in an effort to secure his freedom.

Sharing his thoughts, Perry acknowledged that the police have been enforcing the law against motorists driving without number plates but appealed for understanding in Peller's case.

“Peller management hasn’t slept, they’ve been going up and down to get him out. IG of police already said if you don’t have plate number you should be arrested, pls IG forgive Peller & release him, he is a small boy.”

According to reports, the incident began when police officers stopped Peller while he was driving a recently purchased vehicle that had not yet been fitted with registration plates. What started as a routine stop reportedly became more dramatic as videos later emerged showing part of the encounter between the streamer and the officers.

Although the full circumstances surrounding the arrest remain unclear, the incident quickly drew attention because of Peller's popularity online. However, beyond the videos circulating, there has been little official information about what happened after he was taken away.

Not long after the incident, Peller addressed the situation during an Instagram Live session. He explained that the vehicle had only recently been purchased and that the registration process was still ongoing, which was why the car had no number plates at the time.

He also made serious allegations about the way the arrest was handled. According to him, police officers dragged his shirt during the confrontation, pointed a gun at him and later took him into custody. Those claims have not been publicly addressed by the Nigeria Police.

The reported arrest comes after the Inspector-General of Police directed officers across the country to strictly enforce traffic laws against motorists driving vehicles without registration number plates or using vehicles with concealed plates. The directive forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with road safety and security regulations.

While many people have claimed that Peller has remained in police custody for two days, there has been no official confirmation from the Nigeria Police to support those reports. The authorities have also not announced any charges against the streamer or provided an update on his legal status.

For now, questions remain over what happens next. Supporters and people close to Peller continue to hope for clarity from the police, while Perry's public appeal adds another voice calling for a resolution to the situation.
