Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang has shared an emotional message about her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people facing hardship.
The reality TV star spoke about how deeply affected she is whenever she comes across heartbreaking scenes of people struggling to survive. According to her, seeing families lose everything they have worked for or watching children caught in disasters leaves her emotionally overwhelmed and wishing she had the resources to step in and help.
Rather than dreaming of wealth for a life of luxury, Queen said she longs to be financially capable of giving people access to the basic necessities that many still struggle to afford.
Sharing her thoughts, she wrote:
“I’m so sad.
Sometimes I wish I had the money and the influence to make everyone comfortable. Not necessarily rich, just comfortable enough to have the basic things every human deserves: a safe home in a good environment, good food to eat, access to quality education, the ability to afford hospital bills, and the everyday essentials for a decent life.
Seeing little children being pulled from floodwaters or families losing everything breaks me into pieces. It honestly hurts my heart.
Lord, please make me extremely wealthy. Not for luxury or status, but so I can put smiles on people’s faces, lift burdens, and help those in need.
Please, Lord.”
Her message highlighted concerns that go beyond material wealth. Queen explained that what she truly wishes for is a world where people no longer have to worry about having a roof over their heads, where children can grow up in safe environments, families can afford quality healthcare without fear of financial ruin, and education is within reach for everyone.
She also pointed to the emotional impact of seeing victims of natural disasters, particularly children rescued from floodwaters and families forced to start over after losing everything. According to her, such moments leave her heartbroken and strengthen her desire to be in a position where she can offer practical support to those who need it most.
For the former reality TV star, becoming wealthy is not tied to fame, expensive possessions or social status. Instead, she believes wealth should be a tool for easing the burdens of others, restoring hope to struggling families and creating opportunities for people to live with dignity.
Queen's heartfelt prayer reflects a desire shared by many people to have the means to change lives, support vulnerable communities and extend a helping hand to those going through difficult times. Through her message, she made it clear that if her prayer for wealth is answered, her priority would be using those resources to put smiles on people's faces and improve the lives of others rather than pursuing personal luxury.
