Popular Nollywood actor and singer Ray Emodi has announced his return to acting, bringing an end to the break he took earlier this year to focus on his music career.

The announcement comes just four months after he revealed that he was stepping away from Nollywood, a decision that surprised many of his fans.

Emodi shared the news through a YouTube video titled "Nollywood, I Am Sorry," where he opened up about the reasons behind his decision to return to the movie industry.

According to the actor, spending time away from film sets helped him realize how much he genuinely loves acting. The break also gave him the opportunity to reflect on his journey and rediscover the passion that first drew him to filmmaking.

In February, the 35-year-old had publicly announced that he was taking an indefinite break from acting to devote his full attention to music.

At the time, he explained that music had always been his greatest passion and that he wanted to give it the commitment it deserved, despite having built a successful career in Nollywood.

However, after months away from movie productions, Emodi said he began to miss the creative process and the excitement that comes with bringing different characters to life on screen.

He admitted that the time off changed his perspective, making him appreciate his acting career even more.

Reflecting on why he initially left the industry, Emodi revealed that years of nonstop work had taken a significant toll on his physical and mental well-being. He explained that from 2017 until the end of last year, he appeared in roughly 300 film productions, leaving little or no room for rest or extended vacations.

"I stopped acting because I was tired," he said.

"Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted."

The actor noted that the demanding schedule eventually led to burnout, forcing him to step back and prioritize his health. While his focus during the break was on developing his music career, he discovered that acting remained an important part of his identity.

His decision to return has been welcomed by many fans, who have praised his performances in numerous Nollywood productions over the years.

Many have also expressed excitement about seeing him back on movie sets while hoping he will continue to balance both his acting and music careers.

With his renewed enthusiasm for filmmaking, Ray Emodi now appears ready to embrace a fresh chapter in Nollywood, combining the lessons learned during his time away with a deeper appreciation for the profession that made him one of the industry's familiar faces.
