An emotional appeal has emerged from the family of controversial entertainer DJ Chicken, as his elder sister publicly pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, to forgive her brother following his arrest.
In a heartfelt message, she described the difficult circumstances surrounding their family and appealed for compassion, saying she believes her brother needs understanding rather than anger. According to her, the family has endured years of hardship after losing both parents, leaving them without close relatives to rely on.
She also claimed that her brother has mental health challenges and urged those involved in the matter to take that into consideration.
Expressing her emotions, she said:
" l am the immediate elder sister of D.J chicken, we don’t have both father and mother neither do we have relatives,
Pls l am begging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his son Seyi Tinubu to ps forgive my brother D.jj Chicken
My brother is not mentally stable.pls don’t be annoyed"
Her appeal has drawn attention because it offers a personal perspective on the situation, focusing on the family's struggles and her concern for her brother's wellbeing. Rather than discussing the legal issues surrounding the case, she chose to speak about the challenges they have faced as siblings and why she believes mercy should be shown.
According to her, growing up without both parents and without the support of extended family has made life especially difficult. She said she is now appealing directly to President Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu in the hope that they will consider her plea and forgive her brother.
DJ Chicken was arrested after sharing a video in which he allegedly made statements that were perceived as thre.atening towards Seyi Tinubu. The matter was subsequently taken to court, where he was arraigned on charges including alleged threats against the President's son, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, and offences under the Cybercrimes Act. He has denied the allegations, and the case remains before the court.
While the legal proceedings continue, his elder sister's message has highlighted the family's personal struggles and her belief that her brother's mental condition should be taken into account. She maintained that her appeal is simply for forgiveness and understanding as the case continues through the judicial process.
