The full cast has been unveiled for the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s acclaimed novel The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, giving fans a first look at the actors bringing the beloved characters to life. The film, directed by Daniel Oriahi, is scheduled to premiere in cinemas worldwide this December.

Leading the cast is Odunlade Adekola, who takes on the role of Baba Segi, the wealthy patriarch whose seemingly perfect household hides layers of secrets and emotional turmoil.

Known for his commanding screen presence, Odunlade is expected to portray a man who appears powerful but is confronted by truths capable of shaking the foundation of his family.

Joining him is Iyabo Ojo as Iya Segi, the first wife whose influence and authority make her one of the most formidable women in the household.

Mercy Aigbe stars as Iya Tope, a calm and reserved wife whose quiet nature masks her keen awareness of everything happening around her.

Bimbo Ademoye plays Iya Femi, the ambitious third wife determined to maintain her place within the family, while Omowunmi Dada takes on the role of Bolanle, the educated fourth wife whose arrival sets off a chain of life-changing events.

The supporting cast also features some of Nollywood's biggest names. Bimbo Manuel appears as Teacher, Baba Segi’s trusted confidant, while Nkechi Blessing portrays Mrs. Bakare, a respected woman in the community. Bisola Aiyeola plays Yemisi, a matchmaker with deep knowledge of the town's affairs, and Olarotimi Fakunle takes the role of Taju, an observant figure who understands more than he reveals.

Other cast members include Constance Olatunde as Segi, Maleek of Ikorodu Bois as Akin, Tina Mba, Blessing Nze, Daniel Etim Effiong, Uzor Arukwe, Kunle Remi, Mike Azu, Nancy Isime, Bolaji Ogunmola, and veteran actress Binta Ayo Mogaji, each playing significant roles that contribute to the unfolding drama.

The adaptation promises to remain faithful to the themes that made the novel a favourite among readers, including family, power, deception, love, and tradition. Set within a bustling Ibadan community, the story explores how hidden truths gradually emerge, challenging relationships and exposing long-buried secrets.

With a cast packed with award-winning actors and fan favourites, expectations are already high for the film.

The adaptation is expected to introduce the celebrated novel to a wider audience while delivering a compelling cinematic experience that blends humour, emotion, suspense, and unforgettable performances.
