Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid is preparing for a private pre-release listening experience for his upcoming album, with an exclusive event scheduled to take place in Paris, France.
The intimate gathering is set for June 25 at the Cova Club Paris and is being organised in partnership with Deeds Paris Fashion Week (PFW), adding a fashion-forward element to the music rollout.
According to details shared on Deeds Magazine’s official Instagram page, the listening party will be hosted by Sina Braetz, Grey93, and Rae, bringing together a curated audience for a first taste of the project ahead of its official release.
The announcement has further intensified anticipation around Wizkid’s next body of work, especially following his recent cryptic social media post in which he simply wrote “Album🦅”, sparking widespread speculation among fans.
While the singer has not yet revealed the title, tracklist, or release date of the project, the Paris event suggests that preparations are already in motion for a major rollout.
The upcoming listening party also marks another international moment in Wizkid’s career, reinforcing his growing reputation for hosting exclusive, experience-driven music unveilings across global cities.
The new project will arrive approximately two years after the release of his fifth studio album Morayo, which was dropped in November 2024. The album carried deep emotional significance as it was dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
Morayo was widely received for its reflective tone and personal storytelling, further expanding Wizkid’s artistic range beyond his signature Afrobeats sound.
Wizkid’s rise to global prominence began with his debut studio album Superstar in 2011, a project that introduced him as one of the most promising young talents in Nigeria’s evolving music scene.
He followed it with Ayo in 2014, before expanding his international reach with Sounds From the Other Side in 2017, a project that leaned heavily into global collaborations and crossover sounds.
His 2020 album Made in Lagos became a defining moment in his career, achieving massive international success and cementing his position as a global Afrobeats ambassador. The project featured collaborations with several international and African artistes including Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems, and Terri.
The album’s standout success continued long after its release, with Made in Lagos becoming one of the most-streamed Nigerian albums globally and producing the hit single Essence, which gained worldwide recognition and chart success.
In 2022, Wizkid followed up with More Love, Less Ego, a project that continued his exploration of smooth, laid-back Afrobeats sounds and emotional themes, further strengthening his diverse discography.
Over the years, Wizkid has built a reputation not only as a hitmaker but also as an artist who carefully curates his releases, often opting for surprise announcements and strategic rollouts rather than traditional promotional cycles.
The upcoming Paris listening event suggests that his next chapter may once again follow a similar pattern, blending exclusivity, fashion influence, and global appeal.
As anticipation continues to build, fans are now waiting for more details about the project, which many believe could mark another major milestone in Wizkid’s already decorated career.
